What is Sender Symposium, and who is it for?

Sender Symposium is a focused, single-track event (with breakouts) for CRM and marketing leaders — and the operators behind them — who run customer messaging at scale. If you’re responsible for lifecycle programmes across email and SMS, and the data, tooling, and performance that underpin them, you’ll be in the right room.

It’s discussion-led and practical: real-world approaches to orchestration, measurement, team structure, and platform decisions — with peers who do this for a living.

When does the event take place?

It takes place April 24, 2026 and is a one-day conference.

What is included?

What is the location?

Sender Symposium takes place at La Pedrera (Casa Milà), one of Antoni Gaudí's most celebrated works, located at Passeig de Gràcia 92 in Barcelona's Eixample district.

Getting here:

Metro: Diagonal (L3, L5) — 2-minute walk
Train (FGC): Provença — 3-minute walk
Bus: Lines 7, 22, 24, V15 stop directly outside
Taxi: Any taxi to "La Pedrera, Passeig de Gràcia 92"
Airport: Barcelona–El Prat (BCN) is approximately 30 minutes by taxi or Aerobus + metro

The surrounding area is highly walkable, with restaurants, hotels, and shops within easy reach on foot.

Is there anything special happening the day before?

Yes. Thursday April 23, 2026 is Sant Jordi (St George's Day), one of Barcelona's most beloved and distinctive annual festivals. It's a city-wide celebration of books, roses, and Catalan culture—lively but still a normal working day.

What is Sant Jordi?

Sant Jordi is the patron saint of Catalonia. Over time, the day has become a major celebration of culture and love—often described as Barcelona's literary, Catalan counterpart to Valentine's Day.

The legend (briefly)

According to the legend, Saint George defeats a dragon to save a princess. Where the dragon's blood falls, a rosebush blooms—hence the tradition of roses.

What you'll see in the city

Books & roses everywhere: People exchange books and roses (today, everyone gives and receives both).
Streets become stalls: Many central streets fill with book and flower stands—La Rambla is a major focal point.
Cultural activity: You may see sardanas (traditional dances) and castells (human towers), including around Plaça Sant Jaume.
Special building access: Some landmark buildings may offer special activities or open days (examples include the Town Hall, Palau Güell, Sant Pau, the Ateneu, and the Palau de la Generalitat).

Why it matters

In 1995, UNESCO designated April 23 as World Book and Copyright Day, inspired in part by Catalonia's tradition.

Is the venue easy to reach?

La Pedrera sits on Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona's best-connected boulevards. Metro lines L3 and L5 stop at Diagonal station (a 2-minute walk), and the FGC commuter rail stops at Provença (3 minutes). Multiple bus lines stop directly outside. The surrounding Eixample district is flat and highly walkable.
